BJP spokesperson demands public apology and action from TTD authorities for the incident at the sacred place
Andhra Pradesh BJP leaders criticized Adipurush actor Kriti Sanon and director Om Raut for platonically hugging and kissing outside the Tirumala Tirupati temple.
The actor and director offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at the Tirupati temple on Wednesday morning and were seen kissing goodbye as they left. The video, which is going viral online, shows Kriti hugging the filmmaker and other crew members.
AP BJP state secretary Ramesh Naidu protested this platonic display of affection and tweeted, “Is it really necessary to take your antics to a sacred place? Engaging in public displays of affection such as hugging and kissing in front of the Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala is considered disrespectful and unacceptable. He later deleted the tweet.
Speaking to the news, Bhanu Prakash Reddy, official spokesperson of the state BJP, said, “Why indulge in inappropriate things like hugging, kissing, flinging kisses and going against the traditions of Tirumala Tirupati temple? It has hurt many devotees of Lord Venkateswara and since the heroine, the filmmaker has behaved like this, he has to apologize publicly. This is a holy place and not a shooting range. The TTD authorities should take it seriously.”
